12 volunteers from different European countries are supporting the work at the European Youth Farm Deetz near Zerbst in Saxony-Anhalt for one month. The European Youth Farm has a room for youth work and various rooms for events, seminars and other activities. Furthermore, groups and school classes can spend the night there and take advantage of various programmes. Some of the tasks include organising game nights, campfires, movie nights, preparing the rooms before meetings and activities as well as practical work such as painting fences and replacing wood siding.
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
All volunteers live in the house of the farm. The bedrooms are shared (2-4 people). It is located in a rural area and surrounded by nature and a lake where it is possible to swim. The farm has animals such as horses, ponies, pigs, chickens, guinea pigs etc. Free WiFi is available. Meals are served for the volunteers by the house. If you want to use the kitchen, it is also available per request. Depending on the distance, travel costs are reimbursed up to 275 EUR and you get 5 EUR of pocket money every day. Insurance is included by the European Health Card and Cigna.
TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY
In the first days and during the project, there is professional guidance and introduction to the tasks to be done.
