The volunteer should actively participate and gain an insight into the working methods of a youth organization in Germany. They will spend most of the time of the project in our office. There we will give them an insight into all of our work areas and give them the opportunity to choose the area they are the most interested in. The fields we are working in are: organizing and planning children and youth camps, the organization, planning and implementation of workshops on different socio-political topics, finances and accounting of an association, work in the European Solidarity Corps as a sending organization, public relations and social media. Youth work in a global city One part of the project will be leading camps between 7 and 10 days for children and youth during the summer time together with other volunteers from our organization. They will be able to develop and implement their own project in our organisation.
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
The volunteer will be accommodated in a house with young students. The volunteers share kitchen, bathroom and a common room. The volunteer receives approx. 150€ pocket money and approx. 250 € money for food every month. He/she will be able to provide food for themselves and also receive a ticket for the public transport.
TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY
The volunteer will join two seminars within their voluntary service organised by the German national agency. Additionally the volunteer can take part in a training to become a certified youth group leader. The training is organised by the coordinating organisation. Another possibility could be trainings by other organisations on different topics, e. g. political education, group leader skills etc.
