Euradio Internship France

Euradio : the only radio school in Europe !

Based in Nantes since 2007, Lille, Lyon and Strasbourg since 2018, Rouen, Le Havre, Saint-Nazaire and La Roche-sur-Yon since 2019, Euradio is unique in Europe: its aim is to talk about European current affairs in a concrete and accessible way.

This information is produced daily by a team of 5 to 7 interns and volunteers coming from all four corners of Europe surrounded by professionals in the field.

Every year, Euradio welcomes two ‘European teams’ from September to February and from February to June.

This means that we accept applications all year round!

Euradio is expanding on a national level, with the aim of having a network of 15 local offices in large French and European cities by 2020.

Members of the journalistic team are thus brought in to develop their ability to network and collaborate with numerous correspondents

What is it like to do an internship at Euradio?

Every student that joins us receives full training spanning from learning the editorial process to knowing how to operate the radio, led by our journalists.

Speaking into the microphone, leading an interview, editing an audio recording… these are some of the many techniques which are taught by our passionate technician Laurent Petetin, who has more than 35 years of radio experience.

This type of editorial training is unique in Europe. By allowing our interns to lead and present their own daily show, Euradio offers them the chance to truly immerse themselves within a professional editing team.

A unique professional opportunity :

With nearly 100 hours on air throughout the internship, our young journalists build up a bank of professional knowledge. Local, national and European political figures are regularly invited to speak live on air and over the phone, both in the studios and even within the European Parliament in Strasbourg. The editing team will therefore leave Euradio with European and even international contacts.

Since 2007, there have been more than 200 journalists from thirty different countries who have presented at the radio school. Some of them now work for companies such as the BBC, Deutsche Welle, RTBF, Reuters, The Telegraph, Radio Sweden, ORF, Hit West…

What do I need to have to apply ?

  • To be studying either journalism, communication, European affairs or Political Science in higher education.
You must have a convention de stage (learning agreement for traineeships).
  • To be interested in questions surrounding Europe.
