Our vision is oriented to foster the sense of European citizenship and an enlargement of the cultural horizons of both local and foreign youth. As Cooperatives we firmly believe that the reception of volunteers in services with a strong social vocation contributes to promoting a sense of solidarity and tolerance towards diversity among young people and we are equally convinced that the ESC program represents a significant educational experience for the development of our community. Currently we are looking for one volunteer that will be engaged at Youth Information office of Vicenza and Polo B55 multipurpose center, where he will be involved on the one hand in promoting the opportunities offered by the European Union, knowledge of the EU and European institutions, and on the other in organizing and promoting activities and courses for young people and citizenship.
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
The volunteer will live in 1 apartment with another volunteer (same gender) in Vicenza town center. The apartment has 1 double bedroom and 2 single bedrooms, with shared cooking and living room and bathroom. Volunteers will share the apartment with local students/workers. The house is equipped with all utilities. All administrative costs (electricity, water, renting costs, etc) will be paid by the Hosting Organization. The volunteers will manage by their own food and meals by receiving a food allowance.
TRAINING DURING THE PROJECT
Volunteers will be given any training necessary to carry out their tasks. The volunteer will have the opportunity to gain social competences, but also in the field of public relations, communication and event organisation. Most time it will be training on the job, this is the easiest way to learn all things quickly. They will not only be engaged in on-arrival and mid-term trainings, but also group trainings with all the volunteers hosted by Studio Progetto. There will be also the opportunity to attend special meetings/trainings with volunteers hosted by other local association/NGO.
We don’t expect any special skills, but it would be good if: • aged between 18-30 years old • interested in youth issues • willing to get involved in communicating with young people • team spirit • responsible, creative, curious, open-minded • good competences in using computer, internet. Moreover, basic Italian language knowledge will be positively valued. This offer is particularly open to participants with fewer opportunities (facing to geographical, economical or educational obstacles).
