LISEL is a Luxembourgish NGO that offers meeting and support opportunities for international students in Luxembourg. In a young & dynamic atmosphere international students can feel at home by taking part in weekly meetings, sports activities, cultural activities, in discovery trips in the country and to the cities of Metz, Trier, Brussels or others in the neighbouring countries. LISEL supports the students to create a social network in Luxembourg and to find friends for life. The international context makes it easy to discover unknown realities, improve the inter-cultural learning and share experiences. The volunteers help to create a welcoming atmosphere and network between the participants of the activities. They initiate activities and meetings aiming at improving the social contacts between the students and the other inhabitants of LISEL’s intergenerational house. We intend to host 2 volunteers in 202-2021 – both are supposed to cooperate as a team in LISEL’s activities.

The volunteers will be hosted in the intergenerational house, in a student community of 6 persons: private rooms and shared kitchen, bathrooms & living-room in Luxembourg city. The weekly team meetings and daily common tasks give opportunities to exchange the learning experience and manage any problem that might appear. Food allowance & pocket money are paid on a monthly basis. All means of public transport is completely free in whole Luxembourg. As a general rule, volunteers are responsible for their meals.

The volunteers have to attend the the trainings and meetings foreseen in the frame of the European solidarity corps. Language courses are provided: French or German as online courses (OLS). Taking Luxembourgish lessons is an option too – in this case, classical evening courses will be provided. Volunteers have to opt for one of the there languages. The LISEL-team will provide adequate and adapted training to the volunteers in order to help them to fulfill their tasks. Other trainings can be provided upon need an opportunities.

The volunteers are supposed to prepare weekly meetings and weekend trips. They have to promote the activities, i.e.publishing on social media.
