Germany ESC European Solidarity Corps We are searching for 1 volunteer for the APPROVED project in Kindergarten “Wellenreiter”. The volunteer will be get familiar with the “on the move and health oriented” educational method of the Kindergarten by supporting pedagogues in their daily activities. Sport, movement and healthy lifestyle are the key words in the work at the Kindergarten. The volunteer will help pedagogues with on the move exercises, communicate with children and lead them to a more health-conscious lifestyle. Also, the volunteer will have opportunity to organize his/her own projects, e.g. about his own country, culture Activities: – Support by looking after kids in the age between 1- 5 years / by the independent learning – Movement oriented offers (aged-based movement exercises/ playful sport offers) – Planning and implementation of thematic workshops (handicrafts, music, sustainability) – Event planning and organisation (festivities, excursions) – Intercultural activities (own country, language, cooking)

ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS

Accommodation: The volunteer will live in one of our 4 accommodation places for ESC volunteers in Potsdam. Each of the volunteer has his/her own room. Necessary living arrangements for the project time has been done. Food: A monthly food allowance of 263,00 € will be provided via bank transfer. Pocket money: 150,00 € will be provided via bank transfer. Local Transport: A monthly travel card to use public transport within the area of Brandenburg/Berlin federal states will be available for the volunteer. The volunteer will receive a bike.

TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY

Our organisation offers the possibility to take part in a language course to the volunteer, according to their current level of the German. All participants are obliged to take part in two seminars during their project: On-Arrival Training and Mid-Year Training. These are 5-7 days long and take place in different cities in Germany. This is a good opportunity to build connections with volunteers from other countries, gain understanding of the EU values and reflect on the ongoing project. Occasionally other training opportunities are provided, e.g.: Children First Aid Course, Juleica Training

PARTICIPANT PROFILE

The organisation expects that the volunteer to: – be interested in work with children – be interested in sport oriented work in the kindergarten – be interested in the planning and implementation of sport orientated events and projects – dedicated commitment and creativity (e.g.: skills in music, sport and games, dance or general be on familiar terms with children) – awareness of being the role model – sociable, friendly, patient and open-minded – willing to learn new skills – be interested in German culture and language and be willing to learn about other countries.
