The examination of a Turkish with Germany : 5Ws We started a new blog series called “The examination of a Turkish with Germany”.

Who is it about?

The blog series will be about a Turkish girl, Gül Dila Dinçsoy, who moved to Germany in 2018 for her Master’s degree at Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn. She is still living in Germany and working as a Digital Marketing Consultant at one global company in Berlin.

What happened?

During Gül Dila’s four years stay in Germany, so many things happened that are worthy to share. While some of them were funny, some of them were pathetic. However, most of them were ironic and they were inconvenient to the perfectionism idea of Germany and European standards.

When did it take place?

The experiences of Gül Dila started in 2018 with her coming to Bonn, Germany for her Master’s degree and it is still ongoing. Most of the stories will be based on her first-year experiences because she was getting much more surprised by so many issues in her first year. After getting adapted to the weirdness of life in Germany, she might also lose her ability to question some illogical issues of daily life in Germany.

Where did it take place?

Since Gül Dila moved to Germany for educational purposes and she was studying for her Master’s degree at Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, most of her memories have taken place in Bonn. However, you will be able to also read other stories from different cities and even from different countries according to her visits to other European countries.

Why is this blog series written?

We are aware that so many people are interested in having a life in Europe, especially in Germany these days. These people are generally thinking that life in Europe is like living in heaven. Unfortunately, it is not true. Of course, having a life in Europe has so many advantages. However, it is also bringing so many problems with itself. If you expect a paradise from Europe while you are moving, you will definitely be disappointed during your stay. Hence, this blog series is written to talk about some realities of life in Germany from a former Turkish student’s and current Turkish employee’s perspective who spent approximately four years in Germany.
