Sweden Malmö ESC European Solidarity Corps Fryshuset Malmö is looking for driven volunteers to join our two volunteer-teams focusing on either marketing and communication or event management. Together with the staff and the other volunteers you will create and execute a plan based on a set of targets and goals. The marketing and communication team will help with and develop the organizations social media, website, communication, and promotional content to increase the reach of the organization. The event management team will help execute and develop activities e.g. lectures, workshops and concerts for youth to meet their needs and interests. You will primarily work within the scope of four operations and projects. Throughout your volunteer period you will be working with youth, for example in our open meeting place for youth. Some of your work hours will be during evenings and weekends, as that is when most of our activities with the youth is happening. You will also be able to explore other projects and operations.
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
All costs are covered by the European Solidarity Corps program. Food and pocket money we will transfer to volunteers’ bank accounts monthly. Accommodation as provided by Fryshuset will be in the form of your own room in a shared apartment.
TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY
You will get two official trainings during your volunteering, once you arrive, the Swedish National Agency will organize on-arrival and mid-term training. Also, there will be a Swedish course for the volunteers. As part of your introduction to Fryshuset Malmö, you will also be given training in project management. You will also be able to take some other courses during your volunteer period if you have the interest.
We are looking for volunteers who have a background in one or more of the following: Marketing, communication, social media, graphic design, photo/film, event management, teaching/pedagogical work, or youth work in general. As we are a flexible and versatile organization, we are looking for someone independent, adaptable and solution-focused. We are also looking for someone who is driven and has an interest in social work as well as facilitating change as the volunteer opportunity will entail this.
