Berlin Germany ESC European Solidarity aims to promote dialogue between young people of diverse backgrounds, increase cultural awareness and empower young people to be active European citizens. VISIONEERS has developed an increasing array of programs especially in support of refugee teenagers from Ukraine situated in Germany. For example, we manage a German school for teenagers who do not have a space in a German school. The focus of this training is on German language instruction, targeted exchange between German nationals and the newcomers, and demonstrating that Berlin is a place of opportunity and a bright future. VISIONEERS collaborates closely with refugee shelters, churches and other locally based organizations. You would be a member of our youth team and support our social worker and German teacher.We give you the freedom to develop yourself professionally and personally and to contribute your own ideas. Start: September for 6 – 12 months

ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS

As an ESC-volunteer your costs for accommodation, transport, food, and pocket money during your stay will be covered according to the framework of the ESC-Program. You will either live in a host family or have your own room in a co-sharing accommodation. We will provide a ticket for public transport in Berlin and you will have a monthly allowance for food.

TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY

While working on alternate activities, you will gain a chance to learn many new skills: improve language and leadership capacities, learn to plan and German lessons and youth events, lead a group, and learn varying workshop tools. Our team provides regular feedback and supports you in your personal growth journey.

PARTICIPANT PROFILE

– Motivated, reliable, organized and structured – Solid knowledge of German (B1) and Russian (B2/C1) – IT literacy (MS-Office, Social Media) – degree or working experience in psychology, teaching, social work, education desirable – interest in working with teenagers from Ukraine – Eager to derive fresh, creative ideas; a hands-on mentality, support event organisation – Interested in international volunteering programs, a diverse learning experience, “European values” and an international working environment – Identification with the Christian Values of VISIONEERS.
