ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION

The project focuses on the youth center’s community activities, sociable activities for locals and international visitors, connecting with local organizations and informing youngsters about possibilities for volunteering home and abroad. The volunteering mission often includes organizing, promoting and implementing activities that are close to your interests, so you’ll also be able to get your ideas into practive. There will also be opportunities to be in direct contact with young people through the implementation of our community activities. ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS

Two volunteers will live together in an apartment in the town of Idrija. There will be no need for a ticket for the public transport, because the town is very small and it’s easy to come from the apartment to the youth center walking. As far as the food is concerned, the volunteers will recieve 160 € per month to arrange their food. There will also be pocket money (4€/day) for them. The transportation costs will be reimbursed to up to 180 €, 275 € or 360 € – depending on which country you come from.

TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY

There will be an on arrival and mid-term training organized by the national agency for the volunteer. There will be a Slovene course organized for you.

PARTICIPANT PROFILE

We are looking for 2 outgoing, communicative, openminded volunteers, who would like to work with youth, learn about different cultures, who are eager to implement their own ideas, organize events, learn about the work in the youth hostel and share knowledge/experience with others (youth, guests…).
