How to Write a Good CV

CV preparation is an action that everyone works on at some point in their life, regardless of student or employee. In the job market where competition is so strong and hundreds of applications are made for a single position, it is often necessary to differentiate and to be selected from  the others. Let’s take a look at the key points for a good CV.

PERSONAL INFORMATION:

  • You must always write your name, open address, phone numbers that can be reached and your e-mail address at the beginning of your resume.
  • Date of birth, place of birth, marital status is also the information you need to write in the personal information section.
  • You must write your nationality when applying for jobs abroad.

 Education Information:

  • Enter the school and departments you graduated from in reverse chronological order.
  • Indicate the grades or major achievements you received while studying, and your overall grade point average.

Work and internship experiences:

  • Write down your work and internship experiences in reverse chronological order.
  • Specify your position where you work. Under each one, briefly list your responsibilities and the work you do in general.
  • Highlight your achievements in particular.

Skills:

  • Write foreign languages and computer programs that you know. Be sure to add what level you know
  • Apart from these, add your other skills that can be useful for the position you are applying for.
  • If you are a member of professional organizations and NGOs, it will be an advantage for you to write them.
  • In addition, specify the activities, seminars and training programs you participated in, with their title and subject, as a sentence.
  • you can add your interests as a summary under appropriate headings.
  • But instead of listing all your interests or activities, you should add only those that are important or related to the position you are applying for.

Education and certifications

  • Specify the vocational courses and trainings you attend under the appropriate headings for your certificates.

References

  • Two references can be written.
  • If you are a recent graduate, one of your references can be your teacher and one can be your manager, with whom you work as an intern.
  • The other option is, ” it will be given when requested.”to add the phrase.
  • If you do not have any references, you dont have to add this section.
  • Do not refer to people who do not know you very well, and give advance notice to the people you are referring to.
